Expecting Solo:

Helping you feel calm, confident, and supported in early solo pregnancy

Are you pregnant (or hoping to be soon) as a solo mum by choice and wondering how to navigate this next stage on your own?

The first trimester can feel exciting—but also overwhelming—especially when you're doing it solo. Whether you're going through fertility treatment or have just seen those two lines, Expecting Solo is a 2-week live group course designed to help you feel supported, empowered, and ready for what comes next.

Even if you've dreamed of this moment for a long time, early solo pregnancy can bring up a lot of questions and emotions:

  • How do I tell people I’m pregnant without a partner?

  • What if I’m still in treatment and don’t know if it’s worked yet?

  • Am I allowed to feel scared and excited at the same time?

  • When should I choose a hospital or midwife?

  • What care model is right for me—shared care, private OB, public midwife team?

  • How do I deal with unsolicited opinions or “dad” questions?

  • Can I really do this alone?

  • What if I don’t have close family support?

  • What should I focus on now without overwhelming myself?

If you’re asking yourself any of these questions (and more), this course is for you.

That’s where I come in!

I'm Alisha, I became a solo mum by choice after a decade-long journey through infertility, divorce, and loss. I finally conceived my daughter using IVF and donor sperm just before my 40th birthday, and she’s the absolute love of my life.

Since then, I’ve interviewed over 100 women and experts on my podcast No Need for Prince Charming, published books for donor-conceived families, and built the Solo Mum Society—a thriving community of women rewriting the motherhood story.

I created Expecting Solo to give women in early pregnancy (or treatment) the support I wish I’d had: real guidance, honest conversations, and connection with others on the same path. Whether you're two weeks past ovulation or ten weeks pregnant, you deserve to feel confident and supported.
